Leak: Brand New - Daisy

It is really hard to appreciate this album without following the history of Brand New. Brand continue to re-invent themselves at an astonishing pace. The musical differences between this album and the last are just as bold and unexpected as ever. Many won't receive Daisy with loving arms, but I am absolutely amazed and horrified.

Very strong influences from The Jesus Lizard, Nirvana, old Modest Mouse, and Everytime I die.

Brand New - Vices

Brand New - Sink

Brand New - Daisy

Brand New - Gasoline

Karen O and The Kids (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) - All Is Love

Track off of "Where The Wild Things Are" from lead vocalist of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Album - The XX selftitled

If you enjoy The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Peter Bjorn and John, and Rilo Kiley you will love this simple but haunting debut.

Say Anything - Hate Everyone

I really like Max Bemis for some reason. He is really hit or miss with the majority of people.

Weezer - "(If You Are Wondering If I Want To) I Want To"

Weezer fans will be slightly less appalled at this track then the last two new songs Weezer played live. I personally think it is their best single i've heard since Keep Fishin (with the exception of Perfect Situation.) Much more Pop Punky than recent work.

Jack White - Fly Farm Blues

New solo single for all the Jack White junkies.

Cover: Brand New - Fuck and Run (Liz Phair)

I'm convinced that Jesse Lacey from Brand New has the best taste of music in the world. I have discovered so many amazing bands just through their covers. Below are some of my favorites.

Liz Phair - Fuck and Run

Built To Spill - Car

Bruce Springsteen - Thunder Road

Modest Mouse - Trailer Trash

Neutral Milk Hotel - Two Headed Boy

Archers of Loaf - Web in Front

Volcano Choir - Island, Is

Collab album between Bon Iver frontman and Collection of Colonies of Bees. Reminds me of Coldplay and Bon Iver mixed with Animal Collective. Not a bad combination.

My Chemical Romance : New Songs

Frontman of My Chemical Romance, Gerard Way, claims that next
album will be a "Love letter to rock and roll" that reflects
their American roots.

I am actually a MCR fan but for some reason I don't consider them
a "classic rock and roll" type of band.

We'll see how this goes over.

Below are three new songs they played at The Roxy on 7/31

Brand New ( Possible Album Art and Fake Track Listing)

Supposedly some radio station got a copy of the Brand New single

Mountain Goats - The Life Of The World To Come

The Mountain Goats plan on releasing a Biblical concept lp - OCT. 6th

In an interview Darnielle says :

"I guess the obvious question is going to be: 'John, have you had some sort of religious awakening?' and while I guess lots of people might want to be coy about answering that, that's never really been my style, so: no. It's not like that. It's not some heavy-narrative-distance deal either, though, and it's not a screed. It's twelve new songs: twelve hard lessonsthe Bible taught me, kind of. More than that I'd want to wait to say until some people have heard it, which won't be long. Will there be more news soon, quite soon? Like, next week, even? Oh yes there will!"

The Life of the World to Come:

01 1 Samuel 15:23
02 Psalms 40:2
03 Genesis 3:23
04 Philippians 3:20-21
05 Hebrews 11:40
06 Genesis 30:3
07 Romans 10:9
08 1 John 4:16
09 Matthew 25:21
10 Deuteronomy 2:10
11 Isaiah 45:23
12 Ezekiel 7 and the Permanent Efficacy of Grace
